Almost all written work now arrives in electronic format, which means that all work is returned in its original format. A database of 55,000 terms has been established to ensure consistency in the company's work. Electronic tools such as CysGliad and the Assembly’s Term Cymru are used as additional measures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
The workload is assigned a week in advance, with one experienced translator kept 'on call', to translate up to 3,000 words a day for urgent requests. An average of 200,000 words are translated each week.
Therefore, it is advisable to book-in jobs in advance, and discuss deadlines with our administrators. The company takes great pride in its ability to respond flexibly to customer needs, and establishing the above system with new clients from the outset increases its efficiency. 10 full-time translators work at the office, with 15 freelance translators working from home. They are amongst the most experienced and competent translators in the whole of Wales. We prefer not to divide a lengthy document between translators; work is allocated according to the expertise of individual translators. |
