Cymen was established in 1987 by Carolyn Iorwerth and Eleri Lovgreen, to undertake written and simultaneous translation. In 2007, Manon Cadwaladr and Aled Jones took over the ownership of Cymen and the company has gone from strength to strength.

Additional staff were employed to meet the increased demand and now, in addition to 13 full time members of staff Cymen employs the services of 15 experienced freelance translators, each one fully steeped in the company's style and principles.
 

In the open-plan office, there is ample opportunity for staff to discuss translations and share ideas. There is a also a seminar room, where weekly sessions are held to discuss matters concerning grammar and style.

In 2007, Cymen successfully applied for ISO 9001:2000, which is the ISO standard for Quality Management. This certification is a guarantee to our customers that Cymen has documented quality procedures and systems in place that meet global standards and expectations. It also assures customers that we will continually work toward improvement. Put simply, being ISO 9001:2000 certified means we do what we say, we prove it and improve it.
